Congratulations Journey! Today it was announced that the iconic rock band will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. As a fan of the band and a friend of Neal Schon’s, I couldn’t be happier or more proud of them. In their heyday, Journey created fantastic music that the critics tore apart, despite the undying support of the fans. And the fans’ unwavering dedication to this classic rock band is what led to Journey being the top choice in the recent fan poll conducted by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for who should be inducted in 2017. This is a testament to the staying power of Journey’s music and its ability to resonate with millions of people worldwide.
In 2014 my cousin, Chris, and I attended the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to see KISS and Hall & Oates recognized and honored for their influential and timeless music. We hope to do the same in 2017 for Journey, as the band’s music has been an integral part of our lives. What makes this event even more special is Steve Perry will be there. Neither of us have had the chance to see Steve Perry perform live, so having the opportunity to potentially see him sing a song or two with his former bandmates would be phenomenal. Congratulations Journey on an honor that’s well deserved. You’re truly one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and I’m glad your finally being recognized for the expert musicianship and melodic songs that us fans have loved for more than 40 years. May the Journey continue.
